The Italian Vice-Minister of Transport support Lean and Green Italy
The Italian Vice-Minister of Transport, Mario Ciaccia, not only supports the Lean and Green programme in Italy, which started late 2011 with our Italian Lean and Green partner, the Freight Leaders Council. He also expects a substantial contribution of Lean and Green at the international assignment for a 'green economy':
Dear Sir,
I would like to refer to the report in which it was stated that the Freight Leaders Council has undertaken the work to promote "Lean and Green" in Italy, which is a programme aimed at promoting sustainable logistics through recognition of companies that adopt CO2 reduction programmes at the same time lower their costs.
In my opinion, the topic dealt with in the "Lean and Green" programme, also within the scope of international actions for sustainable development, the promising "green economy" topic and the prestige of the players involved, deserves active consideration and sufficient attention.
For practical purposes, I consider the Advisory Council for Road Transport and Logistics is the most appropriate organisation for holding the specific meetings on the "Lean and Green" programme, an idea that I also think has been accepted due to the successful experience that the Freight Leaders Council has had with the aforementioned Council.
I would like to take this opportunity to express my best wishes for the success of the initiative.
Yours sincerely,
Mr. Mario Ciaccia
